How can I submit proof of vaccination or exemption?
The process to submit your proof of vaccination or file an exemption is available on the Cougar Health Services website.

How long do I have to submit proof of vaccination or exemption?
To be considered compliant with WSU’s vaccination requirement, you must provide proof of vaccination or file an exemption prior to September 10, 2021. If you do not fulfill this requirement, a spring semester registration hold placed on your account.

What are the recommended spacing/social distancing rules?
Per Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-12.4, institutions of higher education with a vaccination requirement (like WSU) do not have social distancing requirements.

Can my instructor ask to see proof of vaccination?
No, instructors cannot ask to see proof of vaccination from a student.

Will my instructor know my vaccine status?
No, instructors will not have a list of vaccinated students and should not track vaccine status.

In the classroom, will I be grouped with students who have the same vaccination status?
Concentrating unvaccinated students in the same location counteracts the public health concept of herd immunity; social distancing in classrooms is not required, regardless of the students’ vaccination status.

Will I be required to sanitize my space before and after class?
No, but supplies will be provided through December 2021 if you wish to use them.

If I am unvaccinated, can I still eat and drink inside the classroom with my mask off?
Yes, you can take your mask off to eat and drink inside a classroom. An exception would be if the instructor has a no eating/drinking policy for the entire class.

If I forget my mask at home, will there be disposable masks available?
There will be disposable masks available at central campus locations yet to be determined.

What if someone comes to class visibly ill?
If a student appears ill, the instructor will ask them to leave.

What happens if I am unvaccinated and choose not to wear a mask?
Students not adhering to WSU COVID policy will be subject to disciplinary action.

What if I get COVID-19?
If you receive a positive diagnosis, you will be required to isolate. Any of your close contacts will be contacted by health officials, and unvaccinated close contacts will be required to quarantine for a specific amount of time, based on when they developed symptoms or when they were exposed.
Instructors have been asked to plan for contingencies and be flexible with due dates, tests dates, providing notes, etc., if you are required to isolate or quarantine.

Will the University share the percentage of students who are vaccinated versus unvaccinated?
Yes, WSU will share vaccination percentages.
